8: Know who you are at every age

“Wow I have to say receiving my first swimming award at the age of fifty three and three quarters has come as a real surprise!” – Dee Coles

Some might consider this an odd way for a grown adult to speak – more akin to the language of a small child constantly counting down to the next step up the stairway of maturity.

A ‘peculiarity‘ – though one that in and of itself is perfectly innocuous.

But what it does illustrate is that here we have somebody with a clear knowledge of who – and exactly how old – they are.
“Denise (61 and a half!) is totally excited…” – Dee Coles
The ages above were correctly stated at the time.

But now, less than 24 hours after Lucy Manning’s outrageous ITV/Telegraph “exclusive”, Dee Coles is about to find out just how difficult deception can be: she will lie about her age on live BBC Radio. And you can listen to her do so.
